RNA Processing
- During RNA Processing a cap is added to both the beginning and the end of the RNA strand
- RNA Processing begins as soon as the RNA begins to be made during transcription
- When the RNA comes out of the RNA Polymerase a methylated cap is added to the 5 prime end
- This can be shown in the animation below
- Once transcription is completed, cleavage factors grab specific pars on the RNA
- The Poly A Polymerase binds to the RNA and cuts the necessary parts off
- Finally proteins attach themselves to the end creating the Poly A tail
